Here we are. Enthusiasm is what Cesco tells me while he rattles off numbers and names. I hardly believe him but at the same time I'm happy with these results and a bit jealous not to be there with them!
The galleries explored recently are gigantic, so that one of them suggested the name "Agoraphobia". Thought something unsurpassable seemed to be in the quartzites, here it comes "Universe of silence", a long gallery, 50-70 meters wide and really high. The exact words by Cesco are: "if you do not take points of reference you immediately get lost".
All this is located on the two rivers that connect to a collector. But this is not the true collector: a divergence to the right takes to a big room of about 200 x 150 meters, already dedicated to Paolino Cometti, an associate who died a few years ago. And from here down to The Noise, the sound made by a rushing river. Here is the real Collector of this area. He compares it to Saint Paul Underground River in the Philipphines. He says it would be navigable!
Of course our friends are realizing that such a big exploration is not going to be concluded in the little time left. So, in the next two days, in which they will be in full force (then Alfredo, Fulvio and Jo are going to come down and back to Italy) will bring the relief and the water collection to analyze as forward as possible.
