At 6 pm they arrived at the last point where the river is navigable and from there with a walk of 2 and a half hours reached the little river that comes down from the tepui with beautiful waterfalls where they made the first camp. It rained a lot and a pair of boots have gone carried by the current that has grown in the night, luckily they had a pair of rubber boots.
The next day they started walking on a track that according to a guide should have been more comfortable. After 10 hours of walking, opening the path in the forest, with backpacks up to 35 kilos, the track resulted wrong and they could do anything but return to the camp with the moral downhearted.
Yesterday they attacked the certain path and at 16:30 they arrived at the top and set up the camp at an altitude of 1000 mts. Up to a height of 500 meters the access is pretty easy, except for the monstrous weights, then starts a ramp with trees and unstable stones to climb with fixed ropes. It was a tough climb and the more it will be the descent.
Tomorrow will come the rest of the material with the carriers and they will start to take a look at the top trying to get close to the Guy Collet cave. Of course the intense heat and the large number of insects do not help them. But we are sure that in any case they will, as always, give their best!
The placement of the Aracà massif.
Finally at the top
